Burning Lots of oil

Well I know burning oil is common in many honda engines, but mine just seems to guzzle it up. I wasent even at 2500km before I had almost no oil left after my last oil change, so I changed it again and I put a product from bardhal in called, no-smoke + stop leak which ive heard good things about. I was just wondering if anyone else here had any suggestions?

as far as I know, all stop leak etc products are bad for your motor, they clog up other things that shouldn't be clogged up! try putting in some lucas oil stabilizer too.

what motor are you running and what oil are you using too?

do a compression and leakdown test as stated above.

you could go for a thicker oil, but it might not make a difference if your piston rings are toast. do you see any blue smoke coming out the tail pipe?

plzbelieve im an idiot strikes again

10w30 and 5w30 is the same grade at operating temperature dummy.

Put some 10w40 in there with some stabilizer. No need to buy lucas, too pricey. Just some cheap thick ****.

But I would do a compression test. You probably have a burnt valve, bent rod, something of that nature.

I <3 lucas, why is it expensive? $20 a bottle, but you don't put the whole bottle in, you can probably get 2-3 oil changes out of it, it makes my motor so quiet!(well it did in my last car, havn't put it into the current one yet)

I have the same problem here. I'm running a b16a2 and is burning MAD OIL (similar rate to this guy here)... I did a compression test and had 210 right accross... What do you guys think is the problem??....

(sorry for posting this crap here but is the same topic)...

How do you know its burning "mad oil"?

A b16a2 that tests 210 across the board is pretty rare IMO.

I'm betting leak over burning.

prolly leaking at the cam seals, distributor, or vtec solenoid.
