Any way to make Hasport Solid engine mounts softer????

Hi there, yes i'm a wuss i guess, but i have to use my car for work, and my whole car sounds like an engine now (though it does feel solid!). Is there anything i can do to make these softer?

Thanks in advance!
Matt

sell them and get softer ones or get OEM ones.

ok, don't laugh, what about putting something between where the mounts actually sit? like some rubber or silicone? Or how about drilling holes in the rubber inserts to give them 'less' rigidity?

It's too loud or the ride is too rough?

i'm afraid this is the best option for you....or tough it out. i had crazy stiff mounts on my swapped hatch and i've grown into it

those are good ideas no doubt. seems you've thought about this problem.

however, drilling them will cause failure as it introduces 'stress' in the material from drilling. and something that vibrates like mad doesn't like stress.

as for putting material between the body and the mounts, I'm afraid this is also not an option. the bolt will stretch without you even knowing it and will fail, possibly dropping your engine out from under the car. I'm not even joking.... the only reason a bolt works is because it takes two solid surfaces and torques them together, if one is not a solid surface, when you try to bolt it together the bolt will snap. I know some jackass out there is gonna try to come up with some stupid **** about how he bolted some 2x4 wood together and it held, but the wood swells around the bolt... metal doesn't. trust me, the bolt will break if you do that!
