Acceleration Problems... HELP.

i have a problem with my acceleration btw 1000-3500 rpm.

i recently did a transmission swap and ever since then it boggs when i take off and it takes off extremely slow. im pretty sure everything was put back in place properly, my check engine light is not on so i cant do a computer scan. basically i need any kind of assistance anyone can give, it most likely has to do with something i took off and put back on during the swap but i just cant think of what it would or could be.
would it make sense if there was crap that somehow fell inside spark plug sleeves and would interupt the connection, although they were covered when i was working on the car.
does those sensors that are plugged into the tranny cause anything like this to happen or are they just speed sensors?

any help would be greatly appreciated...

its very hard to diagnosis a problem like this online.

To answer your question.. the sensors on the transmission are the reverse switch (wont affect anything) then the vehicle speed sensor, which CAN affect driveability.. but on your gen honda, I've never seen them cause any problems, it's usually on AT's that they will act up.

Anyways.. First thing I would do, is make sure all your grounds are solid. You only removed one, and that's mainly for the starter, but i'd clean up all your grounds.. then if you haven't done a tune-up in a while, I would do a tune-up (wires/plugs, wires, cap) or atleast inspect them.

g/l

so i was looking around the engine bay and checking all my connections and i couldnt find anything... but i remembered that i didnt time my car back in when i disconnected the cap. so i looked at the slotted holes and my bolts were off to one side... stupid mistake, so i started up the car loosened those bolts and rotated it back to roughly center and it seems to be a lot better. now i just have to get my timing back to perfect.

thanks for the suggestions earlier i appreciate it. i just wanted to post what was wrong just incase someone in a similar situation has the same problems. ie. no check engine light and bogging problems...

uh... why did you take your distributor off to do a tranny swap?

Did you just take the CAP off? Or the whole unit>?

And you just can't turn the distributor, you need to jump the service connector first, then do it with a timing light. Pretty simple process..

ya i took off the whole unit just so it was easier to get to some sensors and bolts and whatnot. i didnt have a timing light, my buddy at honda has one at work but hes not there til monday, so for the meantime i just loosened the three bolts while the car was on and turned it so it was roughly in the center of the slotted holes and til the car sounded like it was running better and it seemed to fix the problem til i get that light.
i didnt realize not having it back to where it was would screw up my timing that much but it did...

If you move it a mm it will affect your timing.

BTW, you playing around with the distributor did nothing. You have to jump the service connector so that the PCM doesn't fight you while you adjust ignition timing

ya i really appreciate your advice but when it comes to actual auto machanics i dont know really what im doing, im just kinda machanically inclined so i managed to swap out a tranny. im sure my buddy at honda knows exactly what to do for the timing...

but moving the whole unit did actually fix my acceleration problem cuz i dont have that problem anymore since i moved it around a bit.
