1st Gen CRX motor swap options?

I know that in a 1st gen CRX you can put in a 1st gen integ motor but does any one know if something like a d16z6 or y8 would go? not sure what motor is curently in the car I'm guessing it's the EW2, and from what I understand is really the motor that became the d-series d15a2. if that's the case what if any parts from a d16 would be interchangable IM, headers etc? I'm hopefully picking up a CRX next week, regarless of these questions but in my collecting parts for my 14b turbo build EG I've picked up almost everything I'd need to buuild a 13g turbo. Mostly all I'd need is the turbo, and a manifold. I even have 2 d's layin around to use after I blow the one in my EG, and I will I'm gonna boost the one in there already and it's really really old, pushing 550k.

Any EW experts out there?

Before you mod your CRX, sell it to me!

anyone who can read help me out?
martin - it's an 86 EW not a second gen CRX, and of course I remember Eric I do all the work on his EF and I did a motor swap for him on his brother in law's car 2 months ago.

also I haven't even bought the car yet. I'm hoping to pick it up tomorrow or Saturday. and I don't really wanna mod it, i wanna daily drive it but I do have a few engines, and most of the parts I would need to turbo it, but on top of that I'd have to change the ecu and harness, again stuff I have, in other words I'm wondering how much work it'd be to use a 1st gen CRX shell and put an EG motor into it. I wouldn't even do that untill/if I could find a 1st gen integ rear end w/rear disks, because one thing I do knwo for sure about the EW is that with the integ rear end you can add rear disks, and drop the car 1.5" front through adjusting the front torsion bars and the integ rear end lowers the car 1". I also know that if I could find a mid 80's city turbo II engine that would be a good swap but where would I find that? and since I have a few d series vtec motors, why bother if I don't have to?

You can definetly swap any d-series engine in there.
My buddy slammed in a B16 back in the day. Actually a'lot of people have done b16's in 1st gen rexes. I no the engines in those are the weak sauce d's. You would'nt want to use any parts of it and definetly would want to swap.
Whatever engine you throw in convert it to 0BD-1 if it is'nt already and have a blast driving a car that weighs next to nothing. Hope this helps.

yeah that helps a lot. problem is I was supposed to pick the car up today, would have right away but the stupid bank was holding my last pay cheque for 10 bussiness days cuz it was huge compared to normal, called the guy just now to sasy I'm comming after school and someone offered more then me. one friggin day away from getting it.

I guess the 2 g's or so I was gonna spend on it will just hafta go to my turbo d16 EG build and I'll have to keep my winter beater alive till the EG's ready.
