Are you sure its your wheel bearings that went and not your ball joint? Can make a similar noise..

Anyways, I paid about 180.00 I think for the ball joint installed.

My mom's Cavalier has a bad wheel bearing right now (the second time this has happend) and she will be getting it fixed on Thursday. It is under warranty, but I'll try and find out how much it would cost otherwise. Do you hear a low pitched sound that gets louder the faster you go?

no its not that bad,....
im pretty sure its the 17'ers and the huge *** load i used to carry!
and do stupid acts!\

kinda like a scratching noise....
