Post Water Leaking Please help

Hey guys, So after the big rain fall I noticed some water swishing around while I was driving. So poped the trunk (97" Hatchback) and I noticed a pool of water where the spare wheel is at. Also Noticed that the right side floor mat was wet. Left side is dry.

Please help me out. Is this a common problem with hatchbacks, Where do I look to resolved this problem.

Thank you,

Do you have a sunroof? it could be the drains, or the tail light seals.

if it rains really bad, i usually have wet spots in the spare tire space. not to say i have a puddle, but its wet there. nowhere else tho, and it doesnt seem like it's coming from the rear of the vehicle.

Best thing to do, is take off the rear plastic panels and see where it could be a possible leak.

Exactly what this is.

Its not a problem with the seal or anything.

Go to Home Depot and get some foam tape to reseal the lights to the body.Remove your tailights and remove the old dried out seals. Replace.

IF it still leaks remove the rear bumper and do the same to the air extractor seals.

with my 2k HB, it was the air extractor seals. i ruined an amp for my sub cuz the ground was under an inch of water :S. if you take off the panels(which means rear seats aswell) then you can get a better look. Nd u can also do a full clean aswell, hope some people dropped some $$ The bottom particleboard of my trunk was ruined so i made another one using 1/2" MDF. Its alot stronger now, and looks pretty sick.
