un-painting painted rims

I'm looking into picking up a set of hammerheads off someone. they are spray painted flat-black.

I'm not a big fan of black rims.. how difficult would it be to remove the paint? would I have to re-finish the rims?-- who does it and how much would it cost??

I'm thinking it might not be worth it. advice anyone?

refinishing rims is a huge pain in the butt, and the finish is never quite that good.

Well, if you want to take the paint off, use paint stripper found at CT, usually on the same shelf next to Acetone. Spray it and the paint will come off. And give it another colour, or just fine sand it (1000~2000 grit sand paper) and give it a clear coat if you want to remain silver, or even polished.

Wheel colour doesn't have to be silver, or black or gunmetal or bronze. There are tons of selections out there. Be creative, do what you like.
