Steps to Painting Aluminum

Hi all,

I have a set of front splitter that are made out of aluminum, and I would like to paint them black, would the steps to painting them be the same as painting a plastic part?

eg. clean, sand, primer, color, clear

Thanks!

yeah clean, sand (600 is good cuz AL is so soft), prime, paint, clear (depending on if you use base/clear or one step paint)

Carnards, either on the bumper side or on the bottom of the front lip I believe.

Since aluminum is so soft, am I safe to assume that a flexible primer (eg. for plastic and fiberglass) is suitable?

it's not necessary, aluminium has softness as a material, not flexibility. if it ever gets bent, it's not gonna bend back... so any type of primer is fine.
