Somebody Smashed My Rear Window ****help****
hey everybody
last night i was at the movies at Eglinton Town Center
when i come out of the movies around 10ish
i see glass all around the back of my car
so i didn't think anything of it at first, as i reach closer i see that there is glass all around the back of my car, i go and inspect and see that some ****** smashed my rear window to possible steals subs and amps but luckily i didn't have any in the car..! so now i am sitting there all pissed off and i have no idea what to do next..! call the insurance and get my insurance sky rocket
so my friend told me to get another glass rear from a junk yard
now i have no idea where to go or what to do..! anybody can help me out..! even if u have a hatch that u want to part out i am in need for a back window ..!! this is for a 92-95 honda civic hatchback..!

Call Standard Auto Wreckers....to see if they have a back glass.....not that hard to do it yourself.....cost for glass....$150 - $250.
or......
Look in the yellow pages under "mobile glass repair/glass repair". They will come to your house and do it for you.....and yes, they will replace what is only needed if you explain to them what is broken.
The rear of the 5th gen hatch (not including the wiper motor) only has a few parts.......
glass
spoiler
rear shock raiser mounts
latch to lock
wire for wiper motor. (that the hardest part to fix)
miss..nuts/bolts
They will probably bring the glass with the wire for the motor......sometimes it will bring everything except the motor. They will use the parts from your old glass, for replacement parts.
Time to replace.....around 15 - 20 min.
Too bad......I had a friend that just sold an extra back glass he had lying around for $100.

guy its not worth going to wreckers n pain watever amount just for the glass just call them up adn they will come and do it for you and they will do a professional job and your set.
If the glass is broken they will replace it. PERIOD. It already comes wit th pins to hook up to the defrost.

Have you called insurance? I dont think it would cause your insurance to rise unless you've made previous claims not too long ago.
Most places like Apple auto glass and the like will actuall pay for part of your dectable as well.
I would suggest calling them and asking if it's worth going through insurance or not. As it's not your fault someone smached your window.
Kinda makes you wonder why we even bother paying for insurance when we can't even use it. Pay high rates only to be afraid to call in claims. It's a rip off.

well we pay insurance in the case where you hit someone and say ohhh kill them (just for arguments sake)... it protects you from lawsuits ....
on a side note if this costs more then your deductable then go through insurance you didn't do anything wrong so they won't jack your rates up...

okay everybody thanks for the input
today i went down to Glass teck auto glass
and they told me they would charge me around 4 since its a hatch..!
i talked to my insurance company and everythin
so i ended up payin 100 cuz the rest is detectable..!
