residue on hood!!!

I took off my bug deflector today and where the bump stop things are on the hood they were like pasted there and when I took them off they left sticky stuff on the hood and little nickel sized circles. How would I get those circles and dirt residue off the hood? I tried soap and water, didnt work

Any suggeestions? Anyhelp is appreciated
thanks

It's probably bug guts or tree sap.

CT also sells some specialized bug and sap remover stuff so try that. I tried some before and it works great! Got rid of all the yucky bug guts after a weekend road trip! I believe that the stuff I used was made by STP; I know for sure that it came in a yellow spray can though.
