Removing side moldings

Hey guys, what the easiest way to remove the side moldings on a 98 coupe? Is the molding attached with those squeeze-on clips? can they safely be removed using a flathead screwdriver without breaking or cracking those clips?

thanks!

best way is to take off the quater panel plastic from inside and just push out the clip that way u wont damage the body of the exterior. did mine to paint them to matchin paint color.

-They are held down by clips & double sided tape with 2 little tabs @ each end. Door skin was taken off and clips were removed with a pair of needle nose pliers...theres also a plastic 10mm bolt on the door opposite the jamb to turn the orientation of the tab so you can slide the moulding out.

-The one on qtr panel was masked off.

-after base coat

-after clear coat...just make sure you take the time to properly mask the area. And remove tape just as last coat has flashed....err almost dry.
