Removing badges

I took off my badges last night, but i got some foam crap stuck on in the shape of the badge. I tried a razor blade but it started to goudge the paint a bit. Any ideas on what I should do?

also there's "goo gone" from Canadian Tire. Make sure you heat up the adhesive quite a bit with a hair dryer before removing the emblem or badge

have u tried goo-gone?

it MAY remove some paint if u scrub alot, and hard heating the paint, but its safe if using it patiently

worked for my moms car, removing the dealership logo badge

edit: dam, im slow....

ya, goo gone will work, but WD40 is more accessible to most ppl, and I'm sure it's 100% paint safe cuz I've used it many a time.

When I removed the gunk, I used a hairdryer and wd40, just started rubbing as hard as I could with a rag and sometimes with my finger nails. Worked like a charm.

I did that this weekend, I was about to use Goo gone but it smelt really strong, so I didnt want to risk it
so I used some wd40, a rag. I would have to contantly use a different part of the rag
Afterward, you could still see the outline of "civic" but that was gone after a wax

i removed my "civic" and "special edition" badges just last weekend, all i needed was a thin thread

no glue left, no nothing and it looks a hell of a lot better

oh and wd40 is your best bet. good luck

use fishing line to saw through the double sided tape that holds it on. then use goo gone and ur thumb to run off left over glue. do NOT use a razor blade. once all the residue if off, make sure to wax the area a couple times because the paint is not protected under the badge.

on the newer cars they badges come off without any effort at all. the glue comes off easy and leaves no outline whatsoever.

if u do take them off, u will be left with holes from the old badges. Then u will need the holes filled in and painted to match again
