Primer required after light wet-sanding?

I sprayed my side mouldings red around 2 weeks ago and now I have the time to wet-sand the imperfections out.

My question is:

1. is it necessary to put on more coats of primer after light wet-sanding to take out orange peel? or should I just wet-sand, clean, and then spray on more coats of red?

Thanks!

not understanding why you would re apply primer over your paint...
wet sand / use a cutting agent to eliminate high areas (orange peel), then polish to bring back the shine

wet sanding is your final step, you dont spray anything on after.... it basically smooths the surface....

i would seriously consider having someone do it for you or having someone experienced help if you arent sure what your doing....

Thanks all and Jeff for help.

My color turned out to be a little bit darker than my panel and now I want to re-do the moulding.

I know I do not need to sand all the color away, but after let's say an adequate amount of sanding, do I apply primer then color, or can I skip the primer part?

its plastik.? why do you need primer??

only thing you should be spraying on it is the flex/adhesive for plastics. helps bond the paint to plastics.

really you only need primer after the body work to seal the work(bare metal, bondo, fibreglass etc...) , and give the paint a good adhesion too.

Why would you primer over old paint? then paint again, it will leqave you where you were in the first place. Primer is orange peel, more paint, orange peel.......yada yada yada

You need to wet sand the surface with a 2000/1500 grit wet sandpaper going only side to side, no swirls, then take it to a detail shop and get them to beat the **** out of the paint with some compund and a high speed buffer.

Come to hamilton, ill help you out. Large ice capp, white milk ad french vanilla, thanks.
