painting my spoiler

hey guys...

i am trying to DIY paint my spoiler...

i follow the information on the DIY section(made by Crazydragonclk, thanks), and also some infor on the internet

here is what i did so far...

sand the old paint with 220, 800
then did the primer for 3-4 coats
wet sand it a little bit with 800 sand paper
painted it for 3 coat

i am using the paint with clear mixed, however, it's not shinny as my expected.....i know i have to wet sand it with 1500 or 2000 and use the rubbing compound to make it look shinny.......

now my question is...
can i still apply another 2 or 3 clear coats?
i am scared that i would sand out the paint if i am not using the clear coat........

thanks for your help

You can add as much clear as you want.

Like what Jason said, you can add additional layers of clearcoat onto the existing paint.

One thing you have to keep in mind is the clear coat coming from a aerosol will almost never reach the same gloss as one sprayed from a spray gun, even after wetsanding and buffing. Even if it is possible, the gloss will fade relatively quickly after 1-2 Winters.

ok...

one more thing...
do i need to sand the paint before i apply the clear coat?

thanks
