need help wiring 99-00 foglights!!

As stated above, i need help wiring my OEM foglights. Ive mounted everything, all i need to do now is the wiring. The kit came with a wiring harness, but i have no clue how to power the fogs. Do i only have to ground the relay and ground wire to power the fogs?

did u get oem or replicas? the above link wont help if they are replicas

^^ Yeah. The replicas do not have provisions for hi beam cut out. They are wired different.

OEM fog intsll

1) find wire taped behind washer bottle neck (brown 1 pin connector) and attach the foglight harness to that
2) ground the 'spade' connector to the a/c or other ground on rad support
3)remove kick panel inside car as well as ignition cover
4)disconnect headlight harness from the switch and put the connect the foglight harness to the switch. after that, connect the original headlight switch connector the the extra harness connector that comes out from the same wiring harness beside the connector you put in place of the stock headlight connector.
5)go behind fuse box and pull down taped brown 1 pin connector and attach that to the harness that you are working with
6) mount switch and attach appropriate harness to it
6) attach the relay to the remaing harness and ground it with a bolt.

if any questions, feel free to pm me

Thanks for the responses boiz...Yes, they are the replicas and not the OEM honda ones. I got them off of ebay, with no damn instructions. I went off that pdf link, which is the instructions for the OEM fogs. So, how would i go about wiring the replicas??

imported_Scar96 13-Feb-2006 03:01 PM

the wiring that you got with it should be the same...the only difference is that u can either go with the wiring provided with the car..and if you dont have that then u go with the wiring that you got with ur lights....just put 2 and 2 together..its not that hard.

if its the replicas you should ground the spade connection that ends up near the rad. since its the replicas power comes directly from the battery via red wire i believe (someone correct me if im wrong). also forget finding the brown one pin connector it wont work with the replicas. just run wire through firewall and connect to foglight switch. There might be another ground along the way, cant remember. hope that helps.

czeto 13-Feb-2006 06:24 PM

^^ THere is only the one ground under the hood. The replicas do not require you to attach any plugs into the steering column as per the OEM units.
PS- the connector by the fuse box is kinda really up there, so don't give up looking for it

imported_6th_gen 13-Feb-2006 07:17 PM

Iron...I thought i could power the fogs directly through the battery like i did with my retrofit, but the wiring harness provided for the replicas is obviously not long enough and i dont even think there is a red wire.

czeto, when u mentioned a connector by the fuse box.. are u referring to a connector used to connect the brown one pin connector that is on the replica wiring harness?

Tego 14-Feb-2006 05:46 PM

Isn't there 2 brown connectors that you connect into the fusebox inside?

imported_6th_gen 14-Feb-2006 06:07 PM

not that i know of tego...i couldnt find any brown connectors by the fuse box. I ended up taking the car to a mechanic, who so happens to be my aunts b/f, so i got the installation done for free haha.. he customized the wiring harness so that he could power the fogs through the steering column. Thanks everyone for their input!!

the brown connector is under the fuse box on the harness taped up.
