as you can see in my sig, my car is a 92 civic si hb, its black

i dunno much about tints, but my friend got his accent done at tint king and i really liked it.

can someone suggest me a legal %, and how much am i looking at? i think my buddy got his done for like $250 or something

- legal limit is 35% on the windshield and both the driver/passenger window

- i got a coupon at the autoshow to get my tints done at tintking........nothing special just your typical black/charcoal all around........ $150 with a $20 coupon............$130

your car will prolly be around the same price since i have a crx.....

Just be sure to invest in good tints and not those cheapo ones that bubble in a couple of months.

Make sure the shop is certified... I got charcoal cuz I like the dark look, but now I wish I had gone WAYYYY lighter... like 2-3 shades lighter. I got 20s all around

I thought tint on the windshield and front drivers and passenger side windows wasn't allowed...

I thought it was 35% on the rear windows?

technically (here I go again....)......

None on the windsheild.......near the top is ok as long as it's transparent......(there are little marks on the edge of MOST windshields that tell you how far down you can go from the top......I think the letters that are next to this line are "ANSI'..(don't quote me on that). Also.....If the wiper passes over the tinted area, you went too low. (you car cheat by getting smaller/short blades. )

Front door/windows.........NONE. (acording to the HTA)

Rear side and back window......you can go as dark as you want...you can even paint the glass BLACK so you can't see thorough it.........as long as you have both mirrors, (on the front doors....drivers side and passengers side) you can do what ever you want to them.

Now.......if you want my opinion, I would go 35% all around.....looks classy, and you'll be less likely to get harrased for the darkess factor.

As long as the interior is a dark coour, and the windows are kept clean, it will "look" dark, almost like a mirror. You will still be able to see out the back when reversing into a parking spot.
This is what I had on my old car, and I never got a ticket for tints during the time I owned it. (over 10 years).

20 all around LOOKS good, but is a pain to live with... night time...taking corners into side streets, you just hold the wheel and pray there isn't someone crossing that sidestreet cuz you won't see them. Otherwise it's fine. Really, I'd go a LOT lighter now.... prolly just like one of those computer monitor filters... like that shade. I don't even know if they make it like that, but I just wanna peel mine off and have it redone in like 50-60% tint LOL

BTW:

Ontario - For the driver’s compartment, right and left, no film can be installed that would substantially obscure visibility from the exterior. Behind the driver’s compartment, any film can be installed.

dOpEy, please take a look at 50% metallic tint... lemme know what you think...I wanna do it Your opinion is valued!

Ask for 3M or Luminar tint. Or post here what kind they have... we'll let you know if it's quality.

no, it does not... no one expects you to keep a car for 10 years, end even so, in 10 years who's gonna rememeber where they got their tint done... and best of all.... where are you gonna find your 10 year old reciept for the tint job? LOL
