Horn problem

Ok, so my horn stopped working. I checked the wire for power and it has power, even when the horn button is not pushed in, is this normal since I figured pushing the horn button would give it power.

The horn itself is dead, but when I went to put a horn from a GMC Astrovan on, it was sounding even when the horn is not pushed. Just wondering what the hell is going on?

I think some of the horn button controls the ground side. It gives the horn a gound when you press the horn.

well since you said the horn sounds when you hook up the Astrovan horn, that says one of two things:

either the horn for the honda is like the poster above said, it goes when grounded..

or the horn switch is stuck on, which i think is more likely. why exactly that'd lead to the horn dying without you noticing it (cuz the horn would be on continuously until it died), i can't imagine.

what happens when the astrovan horn is hooked up and you press the horn? does it make the horn stop? a better way to test is with a multimeter so you don't go deaf.

anyways i am pretty certain the horn should only honk when it gets power, otherwise it would need some sort of relay setup inside. and i'm pretty sure that horns are interchangeable.. nevermind that it just wouldn't make sense that way.
