HID Xenon light kit= Garbage!!!

I have this garbage HID brand Headlight kit on my 2000 Si. Each Light randomly works we it feels like it... They are extremely temperamental especially in the cooler damp weather. Sometimes neither lights work.

I have been through the wiring several times now, no loose connections, all grounds are proper. I must confess after doing 15+ years of aftermarket audio. This kit is poorly made.

In all Honesty its complete Junk.

The Kit came with the Car.. The kit was made this year February according to the stamp on the Ballasts.

HID refuses to even offer a discount towards a new kit...Let alone warranty it. I don't have the receipt, as i said they came in the car when i bought it in March.. and they never worked right from the start.

Obviously they know the kits they sell are Junk.... I never once through all the correspondence heard them say well this is rare, or never happens...

Just sorry we can't help you, you don't have the receipt... The F'N ballasts are stamped 02/11.

Anyhow, I will be removing the kit from my car, I know lots of you run these kits in you're cars...

But IMO there is a reason these kits are 75 Dollars, and IMO also I think HID could stand behind there product a little better.

Its a real shame because when they do work I love them... But I can't be driving down the 401 in the middle of the night and have them completely shut off.

Sorry for the small Rant!

ive purchased kits for 40$ and worked flawlessly. My last kit was 60$ and it lasted over 2 years, and just got rid of the car with hids working flawlessly. Maybe just your luck

Where to get a good trusted brand of HIDs if there is such a thing? I want to get HIDs for my '10 Si before the time change (too dark!). But I dont know what the heck to pick out there. Looking for 5000-6000K low beams only.

There is no 5000k bulbs. It's either 4300k or 6000k or above. 4300k will produce most visible light and will look close to stock, 6000k gets blue'ish.

There was an vendor here but i guess he is no more. To be honest, i purchased the cheapest ones i could find on ebay, and had no complaints. Granted i sold the car and not sure how they are now, but for the time i had the car around, they worked just fine. Just get the slim balast because some people sell the very old/crappy thick balast hid kits which do suck. 60-80$ should cover it.

there's a difference in colors when you're talking about halogen bulbs and hid bulbs...

i would prefer buying locally, don't have to worry about paying customs or any other taxes after. and you don't necessarily have to buy from the big name shops... a quick search on Kijiji, and 1ks of results come up

I bought a cehap set, eBay I think. Though it was a Canadian supplier. Worked great. In the add it said it was good and wouldn't flutter or shut off like other kits. I never had a problem.

I will say, using HID kits, and not re angling your lights is really lame. I had the double hid bulb, and both settings were WAY to bright for the other drivers...

DON'T BE THAT GUY!!!
