HID Retro Fitting

Does anybody on this fourm know how to retro fit HIDs? Specifically projector lamp ones, such as from an Audi. I have a 2001 Civic /w aftermarket projector headlamps, and they should physically fit exactly.

But I have no clue on how to go on about this. Especically the electrical part. Has anyone done this before? Or know any shops that do it?

I'm not sure I fully understand your question since I have never worked with a true HID kit. But hopefully this article will be able to give you a hand. It's done on a 6th Gen Civic.

I meant removing the shitty H3 projector lamps on my aftermarket headlights, and install an HID projector from an Audi....

I may own a mazda but I will be doing that to my j-specs when i get them to use th Phillips bulbs and ballast. Basically, you must retro it the reason being is that, the H3 bulb for ad HID kit is not only hard to find but is a pain to put in. Once you have your projectors put them in the oven for a bit a a low temp. This will heat the seal between the headlight lense and the base. After doing so, proceed to unscrew the stock projector. Then install your audi or bmw projector. It is possible to run HID on sotck reflectors however, you must find a sheild or mke one to fit over the bulb housing. The reason for this is that thy produce and intense glare. Lastly, you do not have to change your wiring to run an HID kit. You are able to splice the kit into the existing wires and mount the transformer. If there comes a time when you want to sell them just undo the connection made and you can run your stock lighting again.

I hope thiswas helpful, I too at one point was told all of this before I started my project.

Well I'm not trying to use HID on the H3 projectors....

I meant takin the projectors right OUT, and replacing them with OEM Audi/BMW/S2000 ones........

Know what I'm sayin??

I've seen pics on the net of people who did it before... I'm just not that technically inclined to perform those kind of tasks.
