HID relay question

Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone can answer my question.

I retrofitted my prelude a few yrs ago a recently the hids stopped working...

After a bunch of testing with the multimeter, I found that the relay in the relay harness is defective...

I tap it hard and it will work...

Is it easy to replace this relay? Like can I simply buy the same type of relay at Canadian tire and replace it by pulling the wires out of the existing relay and inserting it into the new one? I have never done this....and does it require soldering?

The reason why I am not simply replacing the entire harness is because when I had my compustar alarm installed a few yrs back, the installer must have used this same relay as there is another wire spliced into it...so if I can replace the relay myself I would prefer to do so.

Thanks!

The relay should be in a socket. And yes, same style relay will work. Just look at pin placement and it should have a schematic on the plastic cover with pin numbers. Make sure replacement relay is the same.
