HID with projectors

Hey everyone i just received my aftermarket projector for a 99 civic, i was able to get a good deal on a HID kit with both h/l for my car. I have heard that some HID kits do no work well with the projector and i have also heard that some are fine with out a problem. Has anyone installed a set up like this and what was the result, how is the beam of light, do u get a good visiblity that is expected with HID etc.
Thank for all your'll help.

Are you installing an HID kit in a non-HID projector?
If yes, output isn't the greatest, but much better than using the kit in your stock housing.

i agree with Kaval. in personal experience i had a 97 si which i purchased some cheap projectors with halos off ebay. they were nothing but crap, poor visibility in the dark. i would suggest that you do some research first. what make of housing did you purchase?

In my EK hatch I had TYC projectors and HIDs and the quality of the light was amazing. Obviously, it won't be as good as the OEM HIDs found on Acuras and BMWs, but I have to say that the quality and cutoff was pretty darn close.

I would definitely recommend TYC projectors for EK Civics.

You would have to mod your OEM head light, and put in BMW projectors. I have just a HID kit in my stock head lights, and they are good.

you could always retrofit the TYC projectors with real quality projectors from say, i dunno, a TSX. expensive, but everyone who's done it say its worth it.

+1

actually e46 projectors are old school and inexpensive at this point, depends on your application and what your looking for, not all housings will accept any type of projector. if your looking for low beam then bang for buck tsx is great and I actually dont think thier too expensive, best low beam projector out there are s2k but hard to find and expensive. then theres bixenons projectors and what not. I think the eg is controled with one light bulb high and low, in that case if you want to retain that feature you should look for a bixenon projector or atleast have two projectors in the headlight housing so one is for your high beam and one for your low. unless you dont mind driving with lowbeam because IMHO a good projector and hid will be more than you will ever need. just a word of advice on bixenon projector the nissan fx45 is a great bixenon or the acura tl the other issue at the point you would face is fitament, GL

Depends on which e46 projector you have, E46 has 2 version , ECE and DOT. the ECE version is better then the dot and wayy better then valeos. The e46 will always beat all halogen based projector out there. There are better projectors like LS430 , TFX, S2k but your getting into something that cost wayyy more.
E46 is easy to work with and not too expencive. Still takes time and money to do a retro.
