HID projector/retrofit kit question

When i get some dough in sept i'm gonna do something with my lights, i was about to buy john lo's 4500K kit but then had to spend the dough on rubbers.

but now i'm interested in the retro-fit idea, but still have a budget, so just wanna get some feedback on this:
its from hidplanet.com, believe its low-beam only, but i'm fine with that.

(2) Valeo Projectors
(2) Hella LVQ-212 G3 Ballasts
(2) D2S HID Bulbs
(2) D2S Bulb Adaptors
(2) Ballast Covers/mounts
(2) Ballast connectors

$445usd so works out to about $540 without shipping within the US (i'll pick'em up)

This kit has everything except a relay i believe, but someone can confirm that hopefully. my budget limit is $550cdn, $600 if its a damn good deal.

The lights will be going in a 1.6EL light housing, so not alot of room available either. colour wise, i'll be going 4300K if possible, or 4500K...I want powerful lights not pretty colours.

Honestly, I have driven beside OEM HID equipped vehicles and John Lo's kit is as bright as the OEM ones.

i say go with john lo's kit, and then get casper's shields, and hopefully that eliminates or at least reduces glare

after a little more research, retrofit is by far better

i would say don't get that kit though, search on ebay and look for E46 bixenon's or something. it will be cheaper than that kit and you'll get high beams. you can't beat that.

I've seen some guys spend up to 900 dollars doing a proper retrofit and its time consuming. Ask BBarbulo, it is not an easy task....thats why I went for the plug 'n' play route.

looking at what kinda projectors and what kind of ballasts to go with if i source my own kit.

TSX and S2000 projectors seem ok
Ballasts i have no idea
bulbs i know i want 4300K

i'll be working on the kit over pretty much 1.5-2 months, so it should give me the time to source everything from ebay, classifieds from hidplanet, here, etc.

Some car with Honda S2000 projector retro-fit

we just finished putting in FK projectors on my buddy's jetta, then replaced the halo bulbs with LEDs, wired his fogs, and installed McCullough HID 5300K in his new projectors (that were designed for halogens) and it looks fantastic. looks as good as mine, but almost OEM.
