HID fog lights or no?
 

Ok, so I currently have plug-and-play 6000K HID headlights purchased from Brendan (the.hid.lighting) here on the forums, they are great and work perfectly. I also have eBay fog lights with stock bulbs (no name brand) and recently one of the fog light bulbs blew.

Today I was debating whether to buy a replacement H11 bulb ($18 for one at Canadian Tire), and was thinking that I might as well get 2 since the other eBay bulb is bound to blow soon. Suddenly its $40+ for two regular halogen bulbs with mediocre output.

Which got me thinking, why don't I spend $60 more and get HID H11 bulbs from Brendan and have even brighter output for my fog lights. I understand some guys will complain about the light spray, the uneven output, the 'double HID's are unnecessary', but I would still appreciate your opinions and thoughts.

Also, if I do get HID fogs, do you think I should get the same colour (6000K), or go with the yellow 3000K to give the car some colour variation. I'm leaning towards getting 6000K as well and go for a clean look. This is what I am basing my idea on: Attachment 35791

I plan on adjusting the HID fog lights so that they don't absolutely blind people.

OR: Does anyone know a good set of halogen H11 bulb, preferrably in a 2-pack, for a decent price. I see a bunch of "Noyko" lights on eBay but I've never heard of that brand before. I would prefer the most white light possible to match my 6000K headlights.

I just put HID's in my fogs (EG) and i love them. I say go for it...but id suggest 3000k....it will look a lot better.

most white light possible is going 4300k
as for the fogs i would go 6000k if thats what your headlights are right now

Get the HID's in the fogs. My bosses car has 6000K in his head and fogs, looks really good. I'm taking out my 6000K and putting in 3000K for my head light and fog light. But i know alot of people the have 6000K/8000K head lights and 3000K fog lights and it looks good, but it's all what you want to do, it's your car.

i have 6000k in headlights and 6000k in fogs and i couldnt be happier...however if ur going to do it make sure u replace the lens with new lens made of plexiglass or protect ur current lens with lamin-x or w/e. if they crack while ur driving and water touches ur hid bulb ur their done for

Flexible LED's ordered from www.oznium.com and installed inside the headlights, spliced into the fog light wiring.
I would make a DIY but I don't have enough detailed photos. There isn't much more to it than taking the headlights apart and taping the LED's in place, splicing into the fog lights (or your headlights) and repackaging it all up.

I love the Civic, the only problem is that it's not my car lol, it's my older brother's. I'm still in school so I only get to drive it occasionally, while he gets to bask in the awesomeness of the mods I do to it. He's not a car guy at all haha.

I want to drop the car very badly, but my bro doesn't want to and I don't want to spend the money if he doesn't want it. Ahhh the dilemma of not owning a car that I want to mod hahah

i also have 2 kits from hid lighting on my ek hatch....i have 8k fogs and 10k headlights (only way i could match the colour because fogs housing is smaller so more light is focused on that area) looks great....go with hid fogs i havent had any problems with high beams and the output is great!

The other thing I did was pull out the fuse for my day-time running lights, so that I could run my LED's and fog lights during the day as my DRL's instead. That way the DRL's don't clash with the LED's (which they did). Pulling out the DRL fuse did not affect my high-beams.

Hey that's my car! :) Glad you like the idea. The HIDs put out a lot more light output but to be honest, i've had minor complaints that people think I've got my High Beams on. But that only happened once and i was on a uphill slant.

It is your preference on the colours, but I would definitely recommend getting HIDs for the fogs because it actually is much brighter than stock fogs.
