Hello all,

I have had an out head lamp for some time, cant find the short, cant find any problems any place. I had it checked out and was told it was the fuse box under the dash, after replacing that its made no difference!

Can I just splice my working head lamp into it? Just power both sockets from the one?

I would think I can, and have been told I can... what do you think?

I run HID lights and if I have to, if they draw too much current, I will take them out.

Please help me out, also I've called about the recall and nothing for my car lights.

I would not recommend running both headlights off of the one working one.

If I was in your situation, I'd put in new wires with a new switch, and relay to keep everything safe.

+12V -->fuse----------|
\/
+12v--> switch ---> relay --> Headlight ---|
| |
GND GND

Crap... that didn't work.

anyways, you want to keep the switch separate from the headlight, as running the power through the switch to the headlight will burn the switch out. That's why you use a relay.

+12v --> switch --> relay --> GND
+12v --> fuse --> relay --> Headlight --> Gnd
