i dont understand why there would be a need for this.
ive seen them on new cars, but never got to know why exactly.
i think a wiper blade would be better.
maybe that'll be the next project on the new cars

man i dont know what country you live in, but here we get wet mirrors, mix some salt in with that and they are useless... the heat dries the mirror so you can see in it... All straight body and tractor trailers have heated mirrors, and theres a need for it.

my si has heated mirrors and it makes a world of difference on those sloppy days. My eg doesnt have them, and the mirrors are pretty much usless this time of year.

I guess you dont drive much, or are one of those people who never look in their mirrors

Good question. This thread is from 2004 and it shouldn't be in the DIY Tutorial section, unless there were step-by-step instructions that were removed at some point.
