nods, silverstars are awesome, 27 bucks each at canadian tire, compared to like 80+ for a pair at some performance shops iv'e seen.... cool blues are alright i guess, but don't compare with silverstars, IMO silverstars are even brighter and better than PIAA's... but i haven't compared so i don't know for sure...
lol if v33k was still here he'd flame me for talking about PIAA's! lol ah the good old days!

They have the Sylvania Silverstars at crappy tire? I've never seen them on display, not even behind the fort knox security glass case.
Are the Osram ones much better than the Syl's?
Yeah I tried Cool Blue's for less than a day and then took them back. Pure yellow garbage. I have Philips bluevision and they're still yellow crap.

Yup, they have a commercial on tv where that usual old Canadian Tire spokesperson guy talks about the new Sylvania Silverstars that he installed on his Ford Taurus.
At the end of the commercial, I think that they list the price as $21.99 each??

27.99, well maybe it's cheaper for the ford application... ya they're not even behind the bullet proof glass, they're just hangnig out on display, but the boxes are so freakin big you'd be hardpressed to steal it unless you were wearing a large winter jacket!!

Both the Coolblues and the Silverstars are DOT approved and are 100% legal. I've had both. I found the Coolblues were whiter than stock, but really no brighter. I currently have the Silverstars and am more than happy with them. They put out a much whiter light than stock and are a little brigher. Both are pretty much just a more pure white light (ie. no blue at all) so you won't have to worry about legal issues.

The silverstars are VERY much like any rice bulbs you can get at Pacific Mall. See this quote from Sylvania's web site under SilverStar Frequently Asked Questions
"What is the life expectancy of SilverStar?
The life expectancy of a SilverStar halogen light source is dependent on the driver’s use of the lights, which vary by season, time of day and number of miles driven. We estimate the SilverStar halogen lights to have a life span of up to one year under average driving conditions."
Just want to share with all of you. Expect to pay $60.00 annually to replace your bulbs.
Peace.

ya, heard they have sylvania silverstars at CT now, even saw them in their flyers. but not sure if they have all applications tho.
silverstars don't give out the same white as piaa's, but still a very nice white. have them on for about half year now and still going.
if they're around $30 a piece, still a good buy.
one thing i still want to know is, if the osram's silverstars the same as sylvania's silverstars. anybody know?
