fixing grit blasted glass lights?

I'm just wondering if anyone has found a way to bring the glass lights back to clear, when they've been grit blasted by the highway?

I can only assume your talking about your headlights.
Here what you do... WET SAND

Personally I started with 600 grit paper and worked my way up to 1200, went 600, 800, 1000, 1200

After doing so and alowing to dry the lenses will be hazy like you've never seen before, don't fear, simply get yourself some "Meguiars Plast-X" it will take all the scratches out that youve made by wet sanding and leave you with an astonishing finish.

PS If you havent got a buffer (topper - like an attachment for your drill) be prepared to use some elbow grease, Ive done it both ways, obviously without the buffer takes longer and is harder but do-able.

Good luck

hey i work in a body shop we usualy sand each light with 1000 grit sand paper in circular motion for a good 10 15 min then use a head light polish and finish it off with a polishing pad in a drill or you can do it by had either way they will come out like brand new depending on how much time you spend wet sanding befor polishing

^^arent you supposed to go only one way and when you move up to next grit move an opposite way? so lets say you start with 1000grit move left - right then when you move to 1500 or 1200 grit you go up - down?

also OP make sure you do this if your headlights are plastic not glass.

Just go to scrap yard and you'll find loads of civics with same headlights in decent shape. On the other hand how bad could yours be? My old EG had over 360k on body, and headlights were still decent.

try just a good highspeed buffing. Should make them better. Headlights are tempered glass though, very hard, it should work a little bit though! post a pic and lets see how they are!
