Urethane.
Absolutley the best for durabilty and longevity..
I have recently recovered an entire urethane bodykit from a EH2 wreck ..
Besides paint scuffage the kit is 100% intact..
Can't say that about the car...

I simply gave him the best option.
True Urethane isn't to light on the pockets..
But last bloody forever.
There is no argument..
Urethane wins hands down..
I would choose ABS next and fiberglass as a last choice.

No it isn't, but for the money you would save from fixing craked kits made out of fibereglass or ABS plastic, it's worth the extra cash.
Also, urethane kits ussually fit the best.
I've bumped my back bumper a few times at work (stupid curb.. ), and the thing is still in one peice. I can't say that for the two cars I have seen that have done the same thing with their kits.......fiberglass and ABS.
1. Civic at the underground TCC meet that backed into the pole (fiberglass?). Can you say CRACK!
2. My friend that got bumped in a parking lot (ABS).
Car #1.....$'s dollars to fix the crack and repaint...unknown.
Friend's car #2.....$'s to fix crack ...$110................paint..$60.............time without car....1 day.........estimated $$'s lost from work and repair....$290. (don't forget to add in the cost of the bumper....+ $200) so...almost $500
My back bumper was around $400 new (+$100 to paint it). If I did have to repaint the bumper if it did get chipped, would cost around the same as the painting for the fiberglass kit. (urethane kits also flex more than other kits when hit)
In the long run, urethane makes more sense dollar wise. Also last's longer IMO.
You get what you pay for. Pay for it now, or possible pay more for it later.
My 2C's....

I totally agree, I got fiber glass front end once, at a race, i think a rock or something - not big - well, the bumper has crack that is really visible. Can't fix it. Waste of money if you ask me.
From my understanding, urathane is OEM. right? anyone.

ABS plastic is on the OEM Civic bumpers. Some car's do come with ureathane body panels/bumpers, but I don't think the Civic's do.
Urethane is usually taken from the same type of mold as the original, that is why the fit is so good.
as for that rock, if it's a fiberglass kit, it CAN be fixed you know? It will cost you a few $$'s, but it can be fixed.
If the car is a DAILY driver, I wouldn't even come close to picking a fiberglass kit.
If it's driven only on the weekends, and driven carfully.....then go cheap....get fiberglass. Just don't cry when you hit a curb while tring to come into a parking lot.

How well does fibreglass hold when scraped, exampple a high speedbump. How well will an abs plastic front lip hold up against a fibreglass lip?
Don't bring urethane into this b/c its too much $ at the moment
thanks
