engine washing>?

does anyone know if doing an engine wash is bad for a honda?
?
i've only heard complaints of american cars having an engine wash!!


any idea's where i can get one done?

I haven't heard anything bad, just don't do it too many times. I would recommend once after winter. I did it on my engine and it was fine. Try it yourself its like $7 a can at CT. BTW if you do it yourself wait about an hour to dry just to be safe.

To clean the engine itself use MotoMaster Brake Cleaner from Canadian Tire, that stuff is good... now as for the rest of your engine bay... make sure to cover the battery and distributor cap, use Engine Cleaner and use Easy-off to clean out gunky parts... and spray with water and give it an hour to dry before driving.

is there anything out there good to clean a valve cover? my red valve cover has dirt and grime in it..I'd like to get it "ruby" red again!

A metal wire brush IS harsh...

Kev, here is what I use... get a shoe polish brush or hard bristle brush and the foam jugglez mentioned.. Will clean that sucker right up.. Also add a medium bristle toothbrush for those tight, hard to reach places.

You guys and your sissy DOHC VTEC valve covers. B18B and B20B valve covers can handle the metal brush no probs.
