To each there own but when you do thinks that are affecting the safety or driving condition of others.

Ok maybe my comment was a bit harsh but if you read the entire thread I was being constructive and in line with the other comments. The reply about doing it anyway and "not wanting to spend money on it" but willing to buy the HID's in the first place. Sure does sound ricer. Thats what prompted my abuse. HID's are a great improvement when installed properly.

scridor, you seem to be an intelligent person from what I read. I don't have a problem giving an opinion in person. We should meet up sometime "buddy". You can see that I support a well mod'ed ride with rims. Some members on here have met me. I just have a hard time warranting a 5-6 hour drive to meet up with people I really don't know. Sorry I'd rather spend it with my kid.

your responses were helpfull until you starting calling out names. There is not need to call out names when people are asking for help...

You gotta understand that there is a big deal of confusion when it comes down to HIDS. I didnt even know HIDS are not meant to be install in stock headlights for the longest time. I almost bought myself a kit from a vendor and I would ve been blinding everyone on the road. I would say 90% of people putting HIDS on headlights that are not make to have hids dont even know that they are doing wrong.

The sellers dont tell you that , the police doesnt seem to make up their mind on whether they are legal or illegal , so there is a great great deal of confusion out there...

And to be honest there isnt many people that really care if they blind others . I m glad the OP actually made a thread and show his concerned for others therefore there was not need to call him a name

On the other side , a HID kit cost 100$ while retrofitting your headlights can cost you close to 400-500$ and doing it yourself is not the easiest job out there. I can understand why many guys prefer to take the short cut and ust put hids. Its not like for 100$ more you can retrofit your headlights and make it work right. You would have to spend 4 times what the hid cost you in order to make it work properly ( unless you can do it yourself )

Personally I would do what mpr did , buy a bigger wattage bulb and call it a day

But you could try aiming them down and see how that goes .

interesting i never knew to buy a higher wattage bulb would make the road brighter. i usually just buy the xenons from pmall for like 30$ a pair... my passenger side went out, since i live in the west end i wanted to find someone in the area that can sells them...

my buddy got me a HID kit for just a lil more than what i would of spent to go get my xenons (including gas) .. thats why i went with HID kit, nothing to do with ricer or w.e that jerk was talking about. got them to avoid getting a stupid ticket from the cops for only 1 headlight like i had in the past because i had to go out the night of. i didnt expect them to shine all over the place.

heres some pics when i say it shines all over the place

Most people don't know it is incorrect to put in HID bulbs in stock headlamps and do it anyways, so don't beat yourself up. lol

Do some research and you'll see what we're talking about.

The stock bulbs on our cars are 55w low beam and 60w high beam. I replaced mine with 80w low beam and 100w high beam bulbs. They are identical to the stock bulbs except the wattage. With this setup, my low beams don't blind on coming traffic. The 100w high beam requires a simple 40amp relay and 30amp fuse to handle the extra current... nothing complicated. Simple, cheap and effective. The 100w high beams are just as good as or better then most HID bulbs in the stock housing. They shine pretty damn far! lol mainly because they were DESIGNED for the housing.

The brightness and spectrum of the light, imo, is also better then HID's and allows you to SEE what is ahead of you, as a pose to seeing just bright light.

With the proper setup, HID's work great. But it's expensive and not worth the cost when there is a much easier, simpler and cheaper solution available that works just as good.
