Custom Red/White Tails
Does anyone know how to red out the amber in the oem 96-98 tail lights to get this look? Id really love to do this in the near future if i can find out how. Ive heard something about vinyl? Or using spray paint but i need more detailed information, hopfully someone around here can help, possibly someone who may have done this? Possibly hook me up with some d.i.y help? Lol, any help/info is apreciated guys, thanks.

You can get the clear red vinyl and cut it out to the shape and size of amber section of the tail light. This is how i did my tails and it looks great! You can go to shinzo works in Markham. He carries the vinyl. He can even cut and install it for you.
If you d.i.y...really easy...
1) Cut a piece of the vinyl larger than the amber section your covering.
2) Once cut...remove the backing
3) Dip this into water that's mixed with a very small amount of soap
3) Place the piece back onto the amber section (you can move it around the light this way)
4) Once you have it placed, squeegee out once edge so it sticks to one portion of the light
5) Using a hair dryer or heat gun, you can stretch and mold the vinyl around the light (great property of vinyl)
6) As you mold it, squeegee out the water from the light so that it will stick to the lens
7) Once you have it molded and stuck to the lens, use an exacto knife to cut around the amber lens using it as a stencil
8) Once you have everything cut, remove the excess
Enjoy!
If you need any help, PM me and i can help you, i have done this (or something similar) on my buddies cars...

I know this thread is old, but does anyone know where I can pick up some of the translucent red paint? Thinking of doing this over the winter if I can get a set of tails. Does CT or a store like that sell it? Thanks.
P.S. Do you guys paint over all the red again or in the case on my 98' just the lower orange parts. Clear coat it after?
