Crappy TYC + Hids combo = Disappointed!! (pix)

Man...i thought they'd be enough...but you can hardly see them on the road. :hithead: They are worse than H4 HIDs in stock headlamps. At least with all that glare, it shows up on the road and you can see 100 ft or so.

With the TYC, you can barely see the cutoff. Disappointed...very disappointed. Let this be a lesson to us all (esp me :_doh, if you want LEXUS/BMW quality light output, either buy a LEXUS/BMW or take the time/$$$ to do the retrofit.

Apologize for the crappy cell phone pix.

As you can clearly see, the cutoff is BARELY visible and this is in a dark residential complex. It doesn't even light up road signs well. Looks like a glow-in-the-dark keychain compared to my mom's Lexus.

Now I'm thinking of swapping the TYC HALOGEN projectors for Bosch E46 D2Ss. What do you guys think? Is that going to be a hard swap?? I read on other threads (HIDplanet) that its actually not that easy...anyone done this before??

Are these a direct swap?

anyone with a brain knows that you don't get lexus/bmw quality lighting from tyc lights... i myself have tyc lights and have researched all around and everywhere it states that although tyc projecters are the best out of all after market projecters they still don't compare to retrofitting.

Im also going to get hids for my tyc lights but already knowing that im not going to get some crazy *** lexus quality... especially not for a total of like 250 bucks for the hids and lights... you can't expect top quality for budget products... lol...

but yes we live and we learn... i think ive seen a thread somewhere online with someone that retrofitted some projecters on there tycs... looked great.

Well its not as great as retrofit but I was riding with tyc projectors with xenon bulbs and it was complete crap. Now with 6000k hids its much nicer, although it could be better. But when you think about it, its never good enough so just got to live with what you have.
