Cracked Fog Light ('96-'98 Amber JDM)

Hey.

I installed a set of amber JDM DEPO fog lights (glass) on my '96 Civic just a few months ago.

Just a couple of weeks ago I noticed that the passenger side fog light was cracked. It actually looks like a bullet hole through the middle with cracks radiating out from it. It still works and I have the hole covered with clear tape for now.

I contacted the vendor on ebay that I got them from about a week ago and he said that he'll check to see if he has a spare passenger side fog light, but no word yet.

Anyone know where I can get one locally (Toronto) or otherwise? I only need the fog light, not any wiring or hardware.

Thanks.

just plexiglass fix that fog light you'll never get away from cracked fogs with ebay lens or even ne lens for that matter. I did the plexiglass fix for my fogs hasnt cracked in over a year! and still going strong

Hmm... Plexiglass fix...

Not sure how that's done. Any info on that? Websites?

Thanks for the advice.

I checked out the details and it looks like I won't really be able to use this method...

The lens is a yellow/amber color with grooving in the glass. The glass also wraps around the front of the fog light as well.

But it was worth the read. Thanks again for the info.

Maybe throw the lexan in the oven. melting point depends on the piece but usually 310-440 celcius.

When it's just maliable, place on top of your fog light lens and shape it with body tools.

If comes out too big around the edges. Use that piece you've just made as a mould instead of the original fog light lens. Drop the soft lexan into the mould.

Cut off the garbage and fit on with black silcon.

Or... wait for a reply from eBay seller.

Then have the fog break again.

Just an idea, may or may not work.

So I've been looking around... but no success.... http://www.********.com/********/for...s/icon_sad.gif

I even went by the flee market in Brampton and spoke with two vendors that were unwilling to part with the ONE fog light. Well, actually one guy wanted $100 for the one. No thanks.

So far Kijiji and Craigslist have not had anything either.

Any suggestions?
