chalkboard paint

have any of you seen it, it is a civic painted with the chalkboard paint so you can draw whatever you want all over it, and then wash it off when youre done, thats a cool idea to try :shrugs:

no it's not.... why would you wreck a car like that??

if it was like an 80s Dodge Caravan cargo van, that'd be cool.... with like an SRT4 motor swapped in.

yeah a cargo van would be cool because of the lack of windows it would be a better black board medium if you ask me.

from wat i remember the actual panels where made out of this special material that was close to chalkboard board so in order for u to actually do it i think u will need to replace ur panels.

i saw it on super tuner i think where the 2003 sir civic was all chalkboard material.

spracingsports 15-Jan-2004 04:15 PM

every show they went to they drew new sponser designs and pics all over it...... i didnt mean to have everyday, but for a showcar that is a unique idea

BTW, you see this type of piaint job on alot of hot rods. (some rodders call it "copper"...ie....as in police car)

Both these cars added a bit of gloss, to make it less "flat".

I have always thought about painting my car Flat black but I'm not sure I could pull it off. Maybe one day.

the apc civic is actually a RHD CTR EP shiped from englang or something. I also heard they dont replace the panels but use a special paint that turns into a chalkboard material when drys up.

T-train 18-Jan-2004 06:38 AM

Yeah, it was special paint. I'm pretty sure that it was Home depot or one of those other home improvement places that they got it at. It is expensive though.
Pulovr, that is a different paint on hot Rods. Just a flat black that was popular back in da day.
The Civic in question was green.

PULOVR 18-Jan-2004 04:05 PM

They used tint to add colour to the base paint. That's why it looks green. The paint they used started off flat black.

I'd do the Z in flat black if it would withstand the elements.
