Bumper Cracking

i noticed today that my rear bumper (which is fiberglass) has a small crack...basically looks like a windshield crack cuz i got little lines going in every direction. my question is will this ******? if so is there anything that can be done to maybe slow the process or help it not ******?

is the FG cracking or is the paint cracking? makes a big difference in the fix.... If the FG is cracking, you can drill holes at the end of the crack in order to stop them from spreading, then reinforce it from the front and back side with FG and resin, and use bondo to fill and smooth the front side of the crack.

if it's just paint cracking, you have to sand down to the FG, then bondo, primer, and paint the bumper again. Spider cracks in the paint happen cuz the paint is missing a flex agent, so you may wanna have them use flex agent in the paint this time and perhaps no apply it so thick.

It's cheaper to just get a new bumper unless you wanna fix it yourself.

If the FG is cracked, and you wanna stop it w/o repainting the bumper use a dremel on the back side right at the edges of the crack and grind holes as deep as you can w/o busting through the other side - use a light on he other end to see when you are close - the holes will stop the stress from continuing. Then use FG and resin on the back side to build up the area and strenghten it. So the back side will be fixed, and the crack won't ****** hopefully.
