Just bought my first honda last month. 1991 civic cx hatchback. i thought it was a steal because i got it for 500, only had to install an additional 1000 in order to pass safety and e test. Plus only has 149 thousand on the engine. The thing i needed advice on was i will be getting it pro painted but it has a large dent on the one side which caused the trim to come off on the back panel. Now ive decided the remove the trim off both sides of the car completly. i need advice on how to take it all off and make it appear like it wasnt there at all. I thought of maybe having someone weld the sides to fill in the gap across the sides but im not sure , i just want it to look flat along both sides so itll look nice after paint. any ideas would be appreciated.

YA you go to NAPA, and get a can of body filler with some hardener. Its really easy, you ****** it across your holes or whatever, and let it dry, then sand it to make it smooth..do this untill u have it perfect. For better advice ask a sales person at the local body store,,liek NAPA.
I did this to fix my rust on my EG and shaving my trunk lid.

take a picture of the area that you are talking about and post it up...if its a large dent then you're going to want to pull it out as much as possible and then work the area with a filler, glaze, and sand paper in order to prep it for paint...but this is assuming that it's a dent in the middle of a panel...try to post a picture

just make a dent on the other side in the same place so it looks oem

If you are just filling trim holes, try braizing. Or I guess filler, but thats not the ideal way. Welding is preferred. But if you're trying to fill a long gap, like an indent from where the trim was, a strip of steel should be welded in, and minimal filler used. As for the dent, depends how bad it is.
