advice on rims and painting them

So i'm planning on getting new rims- questions:
Rota Gt3 / Drag DR16 (same thing)
1) I found a set for a good price but they are green, i want them red. Is it worth gettin them professionally painted apposed to doing it myself??
2) would 15' look too small on an eg? they come in 15 and 16 inch but my plans are to slam the car when i get coilovers.

*this is not my car..using it to show the wheels*

unless your really good with paint and already know all the steps invoved i wouldn't suggest trying to paint them your self. Your just opening a big can...of rice. really to do it right you'd need to get all the green off and the metal is probably to soft to hit hard with a sand blaster. Can you get the paint off without damage to the finish on the lip? Also you'd want to powder coat them for best results. then clear coat, hard to do nice without a spray booth. if you have access to the right tools to do it then sure. I'm guessing you don't need the rims till spring? just keep your eye's open for a deal on what your looking for untill then. Christmas/boxing day always brings on deals, from vendors and people needing money for gifts

i have black dr 16 on a milano red eg, the 16" rims are nice in terms of the look of the rim only but i wish i had gone 40 profile as the overall car height looks higher then my liking. the tires are 205x45x16 and the steering sucks compared to my stock 14s. the wheel steers by itself on uneven road which means i have to constantly have a good firm grip on the wheel especially when braking. the wheel is easier to turn but i prefer the stiffer feel without the wheel turning itself

I wish I had gone with 15"s as te car profile looks lower and the handling should be alot better and more stiff to the wheel.

why not get a new pair of dr16s new in red then a pair or greens and painting it, so much mroe hassle, unless they are DIRT cheap then i would do it,

ive painted my old rims that are now my winters. ive painted them many differet times although it is a crusty rim ive layed many sloppy layers on it and have not had any major problems with it, in terms of peeling or anything, as long as u do a good prep job it shouldnt be too bad, although u wont get a super nice glossy paint easy u will need to spend atleast 100$ on supplies alone to paint them. so factor it in and the hassle of it all and estimate if u want to do it.

I personally wouldnt unless those green dr 16s are like 100-200 bucks
