its all a personal opinion if you like a hint of blue or not. I personally have 10 000k in my civic and i love it.

rick10 04-Mar-2011 11:51 PM

6000 k , personally I dont like attracting to much attention to my car ...

Blue lights , civic , rims , you are attracting the wrong attention

but its all up to you

It also depends on the amount of wattage, originally I had 8000K at 35W and yes you could tell they were HID but they didn't quite cut it for me, now Ive got 10000 @ 35W and I'd say they are equivalent to 6000K @ 55W.

So my 10000K's only display white in colour, maybe a slight tint of blue, but nothing that you would say "those are definitely blue". Your choice though.

At 55W yours should look like these... mine look more like the 5000W in the picture thought I've only ever heard of 4300K.

12000k

6000k FTW

Had 4300k on one car, it was ok, but looked basically stock but very bright. 6000k is win, not too flashy but nice accent at night.

I'm running 6000k on my car and I absolutely love it! Just a slight hint of blue. Not too blue.

I personally wouldn't recommend anything higher than 6000k though. You'll probably get harassed by the 5-0.

G'luck on your decision.

Glare. Glare. Glare!

shaunofthedead 05-Mar-2011 05:22 PM

8000k for sure they have a blue tint to it and they just look awesome

Mugenn.civic.09 05-Mar-2011 05:42 PM

6k.

civic007 05-Mar-2011 07:15 PM

thanks for the suggestion

6000k

D.T.P 06-Mar-2011 12:49 AM

Past the 4300k mark you start loosing visible light. Your eyes are used to sun light/day light, and 4300k is as close as it gets. Something to keep it mind. Higher the K the less you see.

civic007 22-Mar-2011 03:18 PM

Thanks for suggestion. I got the 6000K... it looks great.

sagi 22-Mar-2011 05:02 PM

6000k is the best way to go!

PurpleStuff 22-Mar-2011 11:37 PM

8000k isnt blue..... it's close to 6000k, with a HINT of blue. 10000k is blue, and anything above...well, i won't go there...

i have 8000k, and have had it for 2years and no problems whatsoever....

Vida 22-Mar-2011 11:49 PM

Depends on the kit.

I have 8000k. Looks great. Small hint of blue. REMEMBER THOUGH, the longer you have the HIDS for the bluer they turn and eventually the output will turn super shitty and sometimes go purple lol.

PurpleStuff 22-Mar-2011 11:59 PM

^ or the bulb will die before that will even happen. like mine, for example, it just died this year sometime, and i'm bored of 8k, im planning on getting 6k. i want to "grow up" :p

dreamr 23-Mar-2011 12:29 AM

Or just get quality halgen bulbs...
And just a side note, no hid is elegial provided the wattage does not exceed oem specs.. Wich I think is 55.

Just another great area in the law

FYI - As a heads up... it is illegal to operate HID's in a vehicle without projectors in (I believe) every single state in the US.

dreamr 23-Mar-2011 01:03 AM

Ur probably right but we r in Ontario. and in the U.S. u can't take a leak without breaking some kind of law
