2008 civic hid headlights questions

hey guys, i have a 2008 civic, i wanna put hid's on but my headlights are reflectors, is that ok?

if you look at the headlights, the outter blubs have this cover over the bulb, which are my night lights...the inner which is the daytime is fully exposed...if i put hids on my night reflectors, that wouldnt' look nice anymore would it?or what are my options or if anyone had hids on their, lmk. thanks

Don't put HIDs in the oem reflectors. You're going to have to do a retrofit if you want to get HIDs.

if you don't want to retrofit, just get halogen bulbs.

Hey, you still can do an HID kit in our car - its not that bad. Some cars the headlights are angled up but with the position in the 8th gen civic, it works out okay.

A retro is preferred, and I'm doing one myself soon!

Gah. You should have got halogen bulbs..it would have been better light output, and way cheaper.

theres nothing wrong with HIDs in a reflector. i was previously using D2R bulbs in my reflectors and they were great because they're geared more towards being used in reflectors. the cutoff was decent being reflectors, but not as good as a CSX as the reflector shape is what makes the cutoff on those cars.

another thing is that because i was using D2R bulbs my ballasts already has the D2 plug so when i went onto getting projectors all i needed was new D2S bulbs, didnt need to change the entire kit.
