Hey i have a 1990 civic hb it needs some body work i have been using bondo and fiberglass but just want to know some idea or pointers for using it first time doing my own body work and all and advice would help

ok well you should always use the fiberglass, befor the bondo. i would say you wanna first mix the fiber glass with the hardener, but do not use to much, you want to be abel to work with it befor it hardens, it dosnt take to long. the more hardener the faster it drys. after you ****** it out how ever you want it, first sand it with 80 grit then 120, then 180 then 220, then 400 ONLY if your a prefection freak lol, then aply the the bondo same thing goes for bondo dont add tomuch hardener, and sand it first useing 220 grit, the bondo is alittle softer then the fiberglass, and alot easyer to work with, then 400, then is you want 600 grit, if done right, it should be smooth, dont worrie if you sand to much you can always add more bondo LOL

actually the rule of thumb is never go over 100 grit in difference so save further work of sanding out scratches.

so 80,120,220,320 then 400. , you will prime area worked on after 220 tho, then sand primed area with 320 or 400 if needed. if this is something you fixing and spray bombing i wouldn't bother getting to perfection with 400 cause 320 will be plenty with the enamel, as its thinker and fills those tiny scratches alot better then if you had it done in base clear.
