1157 same as 3496?

1157 same as 3496?
Hey,
I searched.. and got mixed info..
the sylvania replacement guide says that the front turn signal/parking bulb is #3496 and the rear is $1157
some forums say the front is #1157 as well as the rear..
so are they the same bulb? i just got my 99 EK SiR and the guy changed them to hyper white and i want them back to amber..
