wiring help

i have a 2005 civic si sedan.. i put HID's on my DRL, High beam's. i wired it up using a relay, and a whole new harness made.. (power, ground, connector ends and and a signnal wire to turn the relay on.. i found on my headlamp switch the wire for my drl's and wired the signal wire to that.. only problem is when i turn my car off the lights stay on. im assuming thats because the signal is turning the relay on so now my 12v is going to the lights but the relay wont close. why? i put it on a toggle switch because i ran out of daylight. any ideas on how to make this work. thanks

Wire it up to something that only comes on when the key is turned on.

Check if u have the relay hooked up right could have the power on the wrong wire keeping the relay constantly energized
