EK Fuse Panel Cover fix
4 Attachment(s)
I know it's stupid and simple, but the fuse panel falling off all the time really bugs me.
I've noticed on a few EKs the fuse panel cover clip is always faulty too, so i decided to write this up. I'm posting a simple, quick and effective way to fix... 1) Just rip the old clip off and throw it away. 2) There is a little indent where the clip is supposed to clip on, start screwing a self tapping screw into that indent. I used a short screw with a fat head to grab the plastic on the dash part. Don't screw all the way down, you'll need to back it up a bit for it to grab properly. 3) I used a dremel to cut the threads off so that I can close the cover nicely. 4) Adjust the tightness or looseness your new locking mechanism by adjusting the screw back or forth. By the end of it you should have something like this... Attachment 33412 Attachment 33413 Attachment 33414 And it's fixed... Attachment 33415 Nice solid and won't fall off when you go over that bump on the 401. |

There's an easier fix. I just took the clip, and bent it out. Popped the panel back on, and done.
Hasn't fallen out since. If ur clip is busted, then my method wont work. |

Good call, gunna pull mine out from under the seat and do it. Can you be more specific about which bump on the 401? There are about 10 million of them haha. Are they ever gunna make that highway smooth? I cringe every time I hit one of those stupid pot holes.

Just take the clip from your center console that has those clips covering the holes. They are the same size and the clip will still hold on the center consloe without it.

Those clips are a biatch to get off though without breaking or warping, so I think. But I guess the old rule applies. Everything is easier with the right tool. |
