Think this will be my next project. Painting my side skirts to match my car.

Nice right up D!

Notorious 05-Aug-2005 12:42 PM

Well the side skirt was on my porch since 10 last night till about 10 this morning. Then I put them on my car. Im not gonna be driving the car till later tonight or tomorrow. So it should be fully settled by then.

The 3M film sounds like a good idea, but as you know the story of my skirts, only one side needed to be repainted. If it chips, I dont think theres much I can do about it.

Thanks guys.

You think I'd able to do something like this on a black bumper?

The front bumper is pretty shot from all the highway driving from the previous owner....

imported_Joker 08-Aug-2005 08:44 PM

dont do it flat black tho, a nice paint match from sherwin willialms might do the trick tego

Notorious 08-Aug-2005 10:25 PM

Tego you can try doing it yourself.

Since its your winter beater. Ive been driving on my skirts for a few days now, no stone chips yet :)

Remember to get flex agent if you do, Tego. I say you rock the flat black bumpers and flat black steelies for the winter.

Notorious 02-Sep-2005 02:43 PM

GoldBadge, this is terribly off topic, but what wheels are those in your icon? I'm trying to decide between icw fusions, stilletos, and enkei evo6's anthracite (all "17). Oh, my civic is black too. any suggestions?

imported_ahmed 20-Aug-2006 11:39 AM

Hey guys. I bought a type r lip (front and rear) for my ek. I was thinking of taking them to a shop and getting them painted along with tthe stock side skirts. and i could install them back on myself. but i was wondering if you would recommend that i do this DIY on all 4 parts. i dont want them to start chipping tho, thats y i wanna shop to do them for me. i talked to a guy and he'd do it cheap if i could get paint and primer. What do u guys think? Another thing, why is it that alot of people choose not to paint their lips? :shrugs:

thx.

The way a professional body shop will mix the paint and apply will be much better than you doing it yourself. The paint will stock better, shine more, and be stronger.

You get what you pay for- bodywork!

This thread is useless now with the pics deleted. Can anyone update?
