DIY: SeaFoam
#22
DO'iT!! Seeing is believing.
I got a CEL too, noticed it when a big puff of smoke came out. My guess is the O2 picked up something abmormal to trigger it; reset the ECU and everything was fine. I think if the O2 was really fuct, the car should've gone into limp mode which would be pretty obvious.
I've read there have been cases of it killing the O2, just watch how fast you pour it in. The second time i did it on my friend'scar we poured it in w/ the cap, no CEL.

Seafoamed again tonight, some in vacuum line, some in crank case, and only a little in gas tank (maybe 1/8th). Wasn't really measuring the amount, just go by the weight of the bottle.
This time, when I poured it into the vacuum line, no white smoke. Then engine is off, added into the crank case, gas tank then started the car. Well, it wasn't really starting so I gave some gas and it fired up. White smoke, a lot. Let that run for 5 minutes then shut it off. Went inside to change a shirt then came back out (didn't want to get my seat dirty) then start up the car again. Boom, there goes the 2nd wave of the white smokes. Drove around and some more came out, but not alot.
Checked the oil level, seems I am right at the bottom. Funny, I thought my engine doesn't burn oil. But it was Motul 300V with 9000km so who knows. And I also raced with it a couple times during the summer.
No CEL this time, which is a good thing. I will change oil in 2 days.

Zeeman, I did the tune up today, and it now starts up like a "normal" Honda now.

I also did this on my h22, didn't have too much smoke. I did
-gas tank
-PCV valve
-oil (only let the car idle for 30 mins with seafoam in it, then let it sit overnight and did the oil change in the morning)
although it says its safe for the oil, i didn't want to add anything that would change the viscosity of it specially when I was driving, so I only let it idle with it in.
Results see great, noticed a smoother idle after. Changed my cap/rotor + plugs recently and it runs top notch now.
