DIY: Rear Speaker Brackets For An 92-95 Hatch!
Ok, so i couldnt find any OEM ones so i decided to make my own! Let me know what you guys think?!?!
Tools Needed: OEM front speaker brackets, 2 feet of sheet metal, a dremal, and some metal cutting tools. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...Picture125.jpg 1. Cut your sheet metal in to (2) 12'x6' peaces. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...Picture126.jpg 2. Take your OEM speaker brackerts and remove the back of them, i used my metal shears and it took about 30sec. to do (very easy) Before: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...Picture127.jpg After: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...Picture128.jpg 3. Mark a hole about 5 inches wide in the sheet metal and use your sheers to cut it out (i used my dremal to start the cutting, till i could fit the sheers in). http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...Picture129.jpg 4. Now put the speaker bracket in the sheet metal and mark your hole for mounting the bracket! After drilling out the (4) holes use some small nuts and botls to hold it in (a little thred lock woulnt hurt eather...dont want any thing comeing lose) http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...Picture130.jpg 5. Next line up your new bracket in the car and make all the nessary mark you will need (the more mounts, the better) Use some more nuts, bolts and thred lock to mount the bracket. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...cture131-2.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...cture132-2.jpg 6. Once you have ur bracket mounted, put some speakers in and hook em up and your good to go! (....i dont have any yet) http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...Picture133.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...Picture134.jpg Well i hope this helps out some people trying to add some more audio! GoodLuck!! If anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me!! Jeremy (red_line_1080) |
Greatt job, alot of fabricating and all, looks good

There really wasnt that much fabbing, I didnt have to use any special tools, just some tin snips and a dremal. Very easy to do, and alot cheeper they buying an OEM set!!
|
u still need a cup on the back to act as chamber for the speaker...unless u really dont care for the sound quality
