go with a 10 inch rim and stretch 225 tires over them, and then put a VW emblem on the back

well it's easily reversable, you can always take the washers out.

anyone know where i should go to get replacement bolts? I went to home depot and they told me that the bolts that they use would not be of good enough for car use.

Canadian Tire man, you can go to brafasco if you want, but CT has the stuff you need... 10.8 is stamped on the head i think.. you can go a few grades up from that but it's not really necessary...

they're standard size from CT and they're labeled the same size and grade as the bolts...

I just went to Brofasco and requested the strongest ones they could give me.

However, I would only recommend a 10.8 headstamp.

With regards to washers, I added 3 to each bolt. However, if I were to do this again, I would go back and use two thicker ones instead. The reason being that the less number of pieces, the less chance of anything moving.

After my alignment, the rear camber was 1.71 and 1.70 degrees at the rear, so that tells me I did a good job of A) installing them and B) lowering my car evenly with the coilovers and it also tells me my car is straight.

EDIT: Make that -1.71 and -1.70 degrees in the rear. Oops.

due to the # of PMs I get, here is the size of the washer.

30mm OD, 10mm ID, and 3 mm thick.

get bolts that are 5 mm longer than stock, and at least grade 9

one of the most useful posts for anyone looking to fix camber...

based on some suggestions here...i checked several CT stores but i culdnt find any bolts that were 10.8 grade. The best they have is the 8.8 grade and in that spec, they didnt had the M10 x 1.25 x 40mm size as Alex mentioned.

Plus...the bolts i saw at CT were silver in color. I heard from someone that the right ones are black.

Maybe not all stores carry them. I will be heading to Brafasco tommorrow to get the right size.

If you look here the one in the middle is the stock factory one, the one on the left is the new one without the washers, and the one on the right is the new one with the two washers.

Sucks that CT didn't have it man, it took me a while to find it but i found it eventually, brafasco will have it for sure, but theyr'e usually slightly pricier... but hey it's worth it, just a couple of bucks neways...

Bought the same M10x1.25x40mm bolts (for a 17mm socket) and washers from CT that was stamped 8.8 grade, but I wanted I higher grade so I went to Brofasco. They didnt carry it but they could get it on special order, I gave them a sample from CT to compare as well. I also went across the street to fastenal to see if they have it, but they only had 8.8 grade as well and they only sell in bulks. The guy in fastenal said that the bolts I got from CT was a grade 5 b/c it was silver, the 8.8 grades are yellowish in color. Just waiting for brafasco to get back to me on the bolts i've ordered
