Brake Master Cylinder Upgrade for 1992-1995 Civics
#22
Hmmmm....
Since your friend's 93 coupe has front disks and rear drums i would that it would use a 13/16 MC instead of the 15/16
I assumed the 15/16 was for 4 wheel disks.
I myself did the GSR brake swap on my car and never upgraded my BB or MC. However my car came stock with 4 wheel disk all around. I did notice a change in pedal feel from the smaller Si brakes.
However that can be accounted for using the civic BB rather than swapping a integra BB... OR it could mean i need a new one
but since both systems use the 15/16 MC it functions fine.
so inconclusion swapping out a 15/16 MC for another one of a different model shouldn't improve my brakes... feel or performance or otherwise.
anyone care to retort?

yeah, but Integra M/Cs are not direct bolt ins. the size of the fittings are different, so you have to cut and re-flare the hard lines on the chassis with new fittings. more can be found on hybrid garage about this swap. there is an extensive writeup on it. also, you are correct, 15/16 vs 15/16 is the same... it's the volume it displaces, so when you go from a small piston caliper to a large piston caliper, the volume requirement increases, hence farther pedal travel to displace the req'd amount of fluid. The answer... bigger diameter M/C, or dual M/C
Can anyone find out the Civic Type R 96+ master cylinder part number??

me too... seems everyone is running ITR booster and m/c. But I have the SIR booster and M/C and I'd like to stay in the Civic family cuz of the line location on the m/c body itself.

the integra M/C does NOT fit the Civic booster. you need to swap the entire booster/mc assembly, which is why I'm looking for a CTR one in hopes that it will match up to the SiR booster. If not, then I wasted a couple hundred bux

my 1998 acura el has a 15/16 with letter A stamped beside it lookws a little different than the cylinder type. IT looks like a box at the bottom then smaller resevoir on top, but looks like it would hold more fluid than si m/c
heard rumour that front brakes on el are same as gsr????

Crap!... ok so I just got all '95 GSR Brakes for my car ('93 LX, had drums in rear) so what do I need to find to make this work? you guys have confused me. I have a guy gonna sell me a 'Teg booster and M/C for $100... is it gonna fit? I work at Honda so I can get parts for cost, should I just order this '91 part and that's it?
