....your late, get on the line....!

So, what does your company do for workers that are late? Yesterday we talked about it between 5 of us here and we came to a conclusion on what we would do, and unfortunetly, this morning I was the late one.

So I had to go in the warehouse, and stand on a 8 foot line, running back and forth trying to dodge 3 nerf footballs for a total of 1 minute. Needless to say, I got a hit about 4 times and dodge the rest.

Monday, I am sure I will not be late just so I can hammer someone off the cheek bone with the nerf ball....

jdmcrx000 01-Dec-2006 08:04 AM

lol soinds like fun can i come and hit u with a nerf ball?

Nova_Dust 01-Dec-2006 08:47 AM

I am usually on time, or 2 or 3 minutes late, and sometimes early.

That's why I need a more powerful engine.

imported_JoonyaSI 01-Dec-2006 08:55 AM

holy **** ... id be gettting nerf'd all week

Gallagher 01-Dec-2006 08:59 AM

I actually wasn't even late. Its the last person to step foot into the office. I was actually 7mins early....

Oh well, one day i'll break a nose! :)

imported_hdave 01-Dec-2006 09:02 AM

Im late all the time.
I start at 9 and usually get there 9:30ish and sometimes as late as 11
infact, its 9:20 now and Im still at home killing time

Nothing happens to me at all, I thought that I would hear a crapload of complaining when my co-op coordinator came in, but they didn't even mention it

Nova_Dust 01-Dec-2006 09:04 AM

I would recommend people to be on time, it is a good virtue and will help you in a long run.

imported_JoonyaSI 01-Dec-2006 09:12 AM

lol i came in 2 hours late today .. i feeeeel like **** .. ughhh too much Crown last night

If im late more then a few times for work I lose my job. We start at 8, but i need to be one site around 7:45 in order to unload and organize so im working @8.

Adair 01-Dec-2006 09:36 AM

I used to work at a satellite site which was very lenient as far as 'punching the clock' goes...flex time, etc. was no problem, dependent upon the supervisor.

In most departments, however, it is recommended that an individual be on time, take breaks, lunches, etc. within the alloted timeframe, etc. Once again, though, in many cases, if a supervisor subscribes to flex time or has an easy-going approach and knows the work will get done, there is margin for flexibility.

Charles is correct, though. Being on-time is a good policy in any circumstance.

That nurf ball thing is pretty funny. But when someone is late, then everyone takes work time for some target practice, doesn't that put everyone behind?

ps. Procrastinations is like masturbation... feels good at the time but you only end up f***ing yourself.

Eventually people wont be late because the nerf ball will get em!

As for us throwing the ball at him/her, its a relaxation of the mind and everyone is pumped to work after!

I think its a good approach, even tho I got the ball thrown at my ass 2 times today and one stung!

The ball isn't a nerf ball actually, its those rubber footballs that are small. Filled with air but kinda spongy. Still hurts your ass because its more of a whipping aspect to it!

Oh well, we got a football game organized for 4:00pm today. 3 Inside sales guys vs. me (marketing), inside sales manager, and a Vendor Manager.

WEEEEEEE !:marchmell

MY job doesn't care when I show up. Anywhere inbetween 7-9, but if I show up at 7, I'm done at 3:30, and if I show up at 9, I'm done at 5:30...so I'm there everyday at 7, and home by 4pm lol. I can still stay out late and do whatever the hell I want, the first 2 hours of work are usually very relaxed, alot of back and forth walking around the machine shop shooting the **** with the machinists before going back to my little office and working my ass off lol.

imported_JoonyaSI 01-Dec-2006 10:30 AM

^^^ laid back like me ... i got flex hours so i can come in between 7-9 .. same method applies .. start at 7 leave at 3 .. come in at 9 leave at 5 ... some days are leaniant tho .. like today i came in at 5 .. im for sure not staying past 4pm .. traffic is gonna be a beeeerach ..

Gallagher 01-Dec-2006 10:43 AM

football game FTW !

imported_Bruce Fee 01-Dec-2006 10:47 AM

i don't have fixed hours... i just have to be here for a majority of the day.

when get to work like 3 hours "late" one of the top guys here makes a few comments about my "morning vacations" and usually gets a response about being in at 2 am the night before.
