Windows Movie Maker 2

Windows Movie Maker 2 is acting up. I open it up.....drag pics into it........click to see the little movie demo that i made so far......everything seems to be fine.........BUT.........as soon as i want to add a "title" or "video transition", the thing shuts down. :shrugs:

Don't know why it's doing this.......so i start it back up.....drag pics again........place them into the Clip board again.....everything is fine.........then as soon as i want to add a title......BAM......turns off as if i closed it.

Anyone know why this might be happening?

After this started to happen, I went to MS to see if they had the WMM2 for download....they did......so I downloaded it.....reinstalled......and guess what? It still does the same fuqkin thing, I don't know what to do.

Do I have to reinstall XP to get it to work properly again?

I already ran the latest Norton on the thing, and nothing came up.......ran add-aware and spybot....still nothing.

Does anyone have a clue what might be hapenning.

(I can see the "edit/create title" page come up for a brief second before it shut's down......I even turned off my POW! (popup killer), that didn't help)

:shrugs:

I was hoping to put together some more cool TCC clips.....Gatherer And Civic Boy has seen the ones I have done already. Cool music track......video swips......pic fades..ect.....

I'm so pissed right now. :fustrated

What do you think it is?

If I do have to reinstall XP, what will I lose, and what will stay the same?

Is there a way to reinstall XP on a new drive, and then swith all the info I have on the other drives over to the new one?

If you don't have a clue about computer's, or what might be the prob, please don't give me your 2 C's.

As a side note.......when I found out that WMM2 was fuqked up, I started to see what file might be responible......the one that seems to have a problem, is one that is called....

WMM2FILT.dll
2.0.3312.0
Movie Maker Filters

When I drag this file to my desktop, the WMM2 seems to act almost normally........it won't let me add titles or video transitions, but at least it doesn't shut down. I can now see the title page without it shuting down.

As soon as I drag it back, it starts to do it again.

What do you think is causing this?

I wish I could completly delet the WMM2 program, and then do a complete clean install, but I can't remove some of the files.....Windows won't let me.......when I try, some of the deleted files reapear from the locatin that I deleted them from.

ie.........Right click......delet.......5-10 seconds later........it reapears.

:shrugs: :banghead:

...sounds like you may need more RAM (a whole sh!t load if you're into video editing), try defragging your comp and reinstalling the program...

WindowsXP = WindowsXtraProblems

1 gig of 266DDR ram. (actualy a little over 1 gig)

Defrag every time it says I need to. If it says...."you do not need to drefrag at this time", I don't.

Tried to reinstall the propram a few times.......nothing......same prob.

I think I might have to reinstall the OS.

Stupid porn.

:p
